The Maritime Passenger Terminal of the Organized Port of Salvador is located at the southern tip of the Port Polygon, and is bordered to the North and West by the Atlantic Ocean and to the South and East by França Avenue, in the Comércio Burrough.

Built by Companhia Docas do Estado da Bahia (CODEBA), with the support of the Federal Government, in an area where the old warehouses of the Port of Salvador were located, the new Maritime Terminal is characterized by its strategic location because it is in the middle of the coast of Brazil, and for being situated in the heart of the city. In its surroundings there are some of the main postcards of Salvador, such as the Modelo Market and the Lacerda Elevator, apart from the Fort of São Marcelo.

Ciertamente la condición de ubicación privilegiada contribuye a que Salvador se mantenga como el tercer Puerto en número de escalas de barcos de cruceros en la costa brasileña y el más importante del noreste.

Actualmente con una movilización media de 150,000 cruceros por temporada, el Terminal se mantiene como importante punto de escala para la diversificación de los itinerarios de cruceros.
